The Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative is an international arts program started in 2002 by Rolex. It connects young artists with experienced leaders in areas like architecture, dance, film, literature, music, theatre, and visual arts for one-year mentorships. The program happens every two years and is supported by Rolex’s charity work. This program is similar to the Rolex Awards for Enterprise, which helps scientists, conservationists, and explorers.
Mentors and protégés are expected to work together for six weeks over a two-year period. Each protégé receives about $41,000 in financial support, plus money for travel and other costs.
