Through the Storm is the thirty-second studio album by American singer Aretha Franklin. It was released in the middle of 1989 by Arista Records.
The title track, a duet with Elton John, was released as the album's second single. It reached number 16 on the US Billboard Hot 100. However, the album did not achieve commercial success, peaking at number 55 on the Billboard 200 after spending 18 weeks on the chart.
The next single, "It Isn't, It Wasn't, It Ain't Never Gonna Be," a duet with Whitney Houston, did not reach the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. It peaked at number 41.
The album's final single, "Gimme Your Love," a duet with James Brown, was poorly received. It did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and only reached number 48 on the R&B Songs chart.
Other artists who appeared on the album include The Four Tops and Kenny G.
In December 2014, the album was remastered and re-released as an "Expanded Edition" by Funky Town Grooves. This version included bonus tracks and a second CD with remixes.
