"See Me" is the 19th novel written by American author Nicholas Sparks. It was published on October 13, 2015, by Grand Central Publishing.
Synopsis
Colin is a young man with problems that began when he was bullied harshly at several military schools he attended over the years. His parents did not care much about raising their child, which worsened his difficulties. These issues caused Colin to have frequent problems with the police, leading his parents to finally ask him to leave their home. Maria, in contrast, grew up in a supportive and caring environment where people helped her emotionally as she worked to build a career in law. Maria and Colin met and started dating. However, Maria soon began receiving weird and scary messages from someone unknown. She thinks she knows who is sending the messages, which makes her worry about her and Colin's safety.
Reception
The Washington Post criticized the book See Me, saying the romance was unexciting and described it as "ho hum." The reviewer noted that she questioned why the story was considered mysterious if it was just an ordinary romance novel. The Deccan Herald had mixed feelings, as they liked the book's romance and action scenes but felt that descriptions of Colin's workouts and fights made the story longer and a bit boring. In contrast, the Salt Lake Tribune highly praised the book, stating that Sparks created an exciting and emotional journey, moving from the gentle feel of a love story to the fast-paced excitement of a thriller.
