Alexis Hall has worked in many different jobs, such as ice cream maker, fortune teller, lab technician, and professional gambler. He has been a published author since 2013 and released four new romance books in 2022.

In 2021, Sourcebooks bought the rights to Hall's Spires series, re-released the first four books in the series, and added two new standalone romance books to the series.

In 2022, Paramount Pictures' Original Film production company bought the rights to the book Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake.

In 2024, the book For Real was listed on Oprah Daily's list of the 25 Greatest Romance Novels of All Time.
