"Bloodlines" is a book series written by Richelle Mead. It is a series that comes from Mead's "Vampire Academy" series. The books follow a character named Sydney Sage, who is an alchemist. After an event involving Rose and Dimitri, Sydney is under close watch by the Alchemists, a group of humans who help keep the vampire world a secret. The Alchemists were not happy but gave her the task of helping to protect Princess Jillian Dragomir, Queen Vasilisa's recently discovered younger sister, from Moroi rebels who want to harm her to weaken the Queen's rule.

Characters

• Sydney Sage – Narrator of the series, an alchemist who later becomes a witch. Sydney is the love interest and, starting with the book Silver Shadows, the wife of Moroi Adrian Ivashkov. In the Bloodlines book trailers made by Penguin Books Australia, Sydney is played by actress Daisy Masterman.
• Adrian Ivashkov – A Moroi and co-narrator from The Fiery Heart onward. Adrian uses spirit magic and is the love interest and husband, starting with Silver Shadows, of human Sydney Sage. He is connected to spirit magic and has a psychic link with Moroi Princess Jillian Mastrano Dragomir.
• Jillian "Jill" Mastrano Dragomir – A Moroi Princess and the younger half-sister of Vasilisa "Lissa" Dragomir. Jill is shadow-kissed and connected through psychic powers to Adrian Ivashkov, who saved her life using spirit magic. She is also the love interest of Dhampir Eddie Castile.
• Eddie Castile – A Dhampir and the guardian of Moroi Princess Jillian Mastrano Dragomir. They fall in love and begin dating toward the end of the series.
• Jacqueline "Jackie" Terwilliger – A history teacher at Amberwood Prep. She is a member of the Stelle Witch Coven and the mentor of Sydney Sage.

• Sonya Karp – A Moroi who uses spirit magic, formerly a Strigoi but turned back into a Moroi in Last Sacrifice. She is the wife of Mikhail Tanner.
• Lee Donahue – A Moroi who uses air magic. He is the son of Clarence Donahue and the cousin of Tamara Donahue, who has died. He was once a Strigoi but was turned back into a Moroi. He died in Bloodlines when he tried to change back into a Strigoi and also change Jillian.
